Catching Up with Christmas AND Thanksgiving 2010!

I know, I can hardly believe it myself... 2010 went way too fast! Not much has changed besides Onyx Jr. growing 3 inches taller and Jade wearing the same size shoe as mine. I look at them everyday and I am so thankful that they are healthy and each are as bright as the sun. This year, Jade got a cell phone, money and games. Onyx is on a Ralph Lauren Polo kick- so he has plenty of that, money and Jordans. *insert sigh here*. We're anticipating a fresh 2011, but before we get those posts going, please enjoy a final look at us in 2010!

Halloween 2010 Turned into a Long Weekend...

Well, all I can say is that I should enjoy the silliness while I can because it won't be long before I am no longer invited to celebrate the goofy holiday with Jade Ellen. So while I complain about having to wear a costume all day and tote the diva around from place to place in search of fun and candy, I actually cherish every minute. This year, Halloween actually began on Friday with a brave Melanie (Jayla's mommy) taking the girls for a night out at the local community college event. An event where, apparently Jade spotted a teenager in a costume like hers and told her to, "stop stealing my shine!". On Saturday, we all donned our costumes, ate lunch at Fuddrucker's and did the Discovery Green thing. Jade and Jayla had a blast making slime, singing karaoke and catching the funniest parts of Beetlejuice (a film I had taken for granted as an iconic piece of MY childhood). Finally, on Sunday, the girls attended the birthday party of one of their classmates- a party full of cake, ice cream , and... more candy.

Welcome Fall Weather!

Yay! Fall made its way to Houston for a little while and we LOVE it! Jade and her BFF, Jayla are spending the weekend with me... driving me absolutely crazy, and having fun getting there. We stayed outdoors all day at Discovery Green where Jade and Jayla pet snakes, studied insects, learned about birds of prey, made an obstacle course and raced up and down a hill at least 15 times. We also ate our way through the day at Katz's Deli and the ice cream trucks that conveniently parked near every bench we did. Gotta love it.
